Inspired by the consistent, present delight of my grandfather and the heirloom tomatoes we adored, "Delighted" is a meditation on the people who cherish us as precious and grow the fruit of delight and love in us.
Hand stitched using traditional embroidery techniques, this piece features 73 sculptural circles that appear to float off the surface of the linen canvas. Each circle is meticulously stitched in one of two motifs that resemble the top of a tomato and a garden trellis.
The linen canvas is finished on the back with a hand-sewn dust cover and then mounted in a wood effect canvas floater frame. The frame measures approximately 18.5” by 24” inches and is 2 and 3/16” deep.
